A memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the clinical and research collaboration between PPHI Sindh and Sindh Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Health Sciences (SIOVS), was signed here at the Regional Office Hyderabad on 2nd day of September, 2020. The document was duly endorsed with the signatures of Chief Executive Officer PPHI Sindh and the Executive Director SIOVS Prof. Dr Khalid Iqbal Talpur. On this occasion Dr. Sajjad Ali Surhio Senior Associate Professor & Incharge Academic SIOVS and Mr. Jalil Ahmed Rajper, Program officer & Incharge Community Ophthalmology Wing SIOVS were also present.
Scope of the MoU- PPHI Sindh – SIOVS Partnership will cater capacity building of PPHI Heath Care workers (HCWs) basic to advance even that is extended to the clinical attachment, the later will tailor a standard treatment guideline (minimizing the eye health gap at PHC level) including redefined minimum ophthalmology service delivery package, effective referral linkage for advance management, overhauling of the existing ophthalmology units in Bhit Shah and Khairpur even further extension whereas the former will provide project-based support for community-based PHC component to SIOVS and helping them in holding eye camps across the board. In addition to it, the two will partner in eye health-related research as well.
The Executive Director SIOVS , Prof. Dr. Khalid Iqbal Talpur, also visited different sections of PPHI Regional Headquarter Hyderabad accompanied with Regional Director PPHI, Dr. Najeeb ur Rehman Chachar.
